YANGON - In the nationwide matriculation exam of 2024, only one student from the Yangon region across Myanmar took the social science subject, the state-run media, the Mirror, reported on Tuesday.

Just two students, one male from Mandalay region and one female from Yangon region, registered to take the social science subject and only one of them showed up for the test, the report said.

The 2024 matriculation exam took place from March 11 to March 19 with a total of 841 exam centers, including 830 exam centers across the country and 11 overseas exam centers.

A student attempting the social science subject was taking the exam for the seventh time, the report said.
Overall, a total of 128,801 students participated in the nationwide matriculation examination of Myanmar.
